Privacy Practices for IncNet Australia’s Information Products
At IncNet we support the protection of an individual’s privacy as a fundamental tenet of our business. We are committed to maintaining the highest standard of privacy and data security in the way we conduct our business.
Individuals have rights relating to the use and dissemination of information about themselves. IncNet adheres to the National Privacy Principles which form the basis of the Federal Privacy Act and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
Introduction
The purpose of the IncNet database is to facilitate effective contact between buyers and sellers in the ANZ corporate market. IncNet is an opt-out database covering approximately the top 50,000 companies in Australia and New Zealand. It contains firmographic data on the companies and identifies relevant decision makers within them.
Our clients include some of the world’s best known corporations operating in the business-to–business marketplace. IncNet is particularly attractive to vendors of high value products and services who place a premium on high quality, relevant and targeted data to support their marketing campaigns.
IncNet is a member of the Australian Direct Marketing Association and adheres to the Code of Practice established by ADMA to regulate and guide best practice in Direct Marketing.
Data Privacy Principles in detail
1.Collection
IncNet collects most information from publicly available sources and does so lawfully and in a non-intrusive way. IncNet takes all reasonable steps to ensure individuals listed on our database are aware of our identity, the purpose of collection and possible accessibility of their personal information.
Primary purpose of collection:
- Maintenance of the quality of our database.
- Provision of information to our clients for direct marketing.
Personal information is limited to:
- Salutation
- First Name
- Last Name
Business information collected:
- Job Title
- Company Name
- Postal Address of Company
- Company profile / description.
2.Use & Disclosure
Information about an individual within a company is used by IncNet solely to maintain its database and by IncNet’s clients for direct marketing purposes. All individuals are given the opportunity to opt out of further correspondences. An individual can have access to his/her information, information about IncNet and purposes for information collected.
IncNet’s clients include Government Departments, Universities, Publishers, IT Companies, Training & Education Providers, Advertising Agencies, Conference Organisers, Accounting Firms, and the Media
3.Data Quality
IncNet maintains stringent and updating procedures in order to ensure that data is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
4.Data Security
IncNet employs stringent security procedure to ensure that information will not be made available to unauthorised users.
5.Openness
The IncNet privacy policy is published on the website and is available as soft or hard copy upon request.
6.Access & Correction
Information about an individual can be accessed by that person upon request at privacy@incnet.com.au.
7.Identifiers
IncNet does not use external identifiers on an individual.
8.Anonymity
Not applicable to IncNet
9.Trans-Border Data Flows
IncNet ensures that any data used by a company in a foreign country will where practicable adhere to the Australian National Privacy Principles.
10.Sensitive Information
IncNet does not collect sensitive information about an individual
Removal / Opt Out Requests
All individuals are given the opportunity to opt-out from receiving any further correspondence.
Individuals not wishing to receive any communication are flagged for removal. This information is for internal use and is not passed on to third parties. This information will be made available to a listed person upon their request.
In compliance with the National Privacy Act a request for removal, must be submitted by the individual in writing. Submissions can be sent using any of the following:

Requests for removals are acted on as soon as possible. Information that has been circulated prior to a removal request is not within our control.

How did you get my name/our organisations name?
Most information, names of individuals or company information is sourced from publically available sources.
For Example:
- Business Directories
- Press Clippings
- Websites
- Teleresearch
What information does IncNet hold on individuals?
Information IncNet captures on individuals is limited to:
- Salutation
- First name
- Middle initial (rarely)
- Last name
What happens to my record when I request removal?
Individuals requesting a removal are flagged rather than deleted, so that they are not recaptured at a later date The flagging records all requests for removal from:
- A particular organisations (sender) communications
- Email Communication
- Total removal
What information does IncNet hold on organisations?
Information IncNet captures on organisations where available, is limited to:
- Official job titles
- Company name
- Division names
- Ultimate parent company name
- Postal address
- General switchboard telephone number
- General facsimile
- General email address
- Publicly listed/private
- Number of employees
- Sales/Operating revenue
- Advertising expenditure
Can I have access to the information you hold on me?
Yes, an individual can have access to information held by IncNet on the individual upon their request at privacy@incnet.com.au.
Can you take our organisation off your list?
No. Company information is public information and, therefore, not covered by any privacy legislation.
